    Flat back studs are seriously so amazing- especially for side sleepers, headphone users, and anyone that likes to keep their jewelry in for months at a time! Because of their unique flat back design they are actually comfortable to sleep in, as they don't poke the back of your head. They can be worn in just about any type of ear piercing, and are all hypoallergenic and nickel free- which makes them safe for new piercings and for those with skin sensitivity too. They are also tarnish proof and waterproof so you can them for months at a time, including in the shower and in the pool!

    We especially recommend these earrings for 2nd and 3rd lobe piercings, as well as mid and helix piercings! They are also great for young kids too as a way to wear earrings more comfortably.

    **How to Put in Flat Backs: Unscrew the front piece from the flat back post. Take the flat back post and push it through the BACK of your piercing. Once the post is peeking through the front of your piercing, carefully take the front piece and place it into the post opening and twist it clockwise. Keep twisting until the front piece is screwed all the way into the post to make sure it's secure!

    Do you ship internationally?

    Yes, we do offer international shipping through our eBay shop. We are part of the eBay International Shipping Program. Items listed on our eBay shop are available to over 200 countries. Find more details here.

    Why isn't my brick and mortar coupon code working?

    Some of our systems have been upgraded and may cause issues inputting a coupon code from coupons handed out at our brick and mortar location. If you experience this issue, please use the code TAKE20 to receive your discount at checkout.

    What if my item is damaged in shipping?

    Buyers are responsible for keeping all packaging and content of any item damaged in shipping. We insure each package but it is your responsibility to provide a photo of both packaging and damaged item in order for us to collect from the insurer and reimburse or replace the item for you. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

    What are the conditions of returning an item?

    Return Policy:

    Contact us within: 7 days of delivery

    Ship items back within: 14 days of delivery

    Contact us at customerservice@thenorthernlightsgallery.com for all return requests. Returns will be issued to the same form of payment used. Sale items are NOT eligible for return. If it is a regular price item, buyer is responsible for a 25% restocking fee, as well as return shipping costs. Original outgoing shipping costs will be deducted from final refund total. If item is not returned in its original condition, buyer is responsible for any loss in value. We reserve the right to refuse a return, and these policies may change at any time.

    What if I place an online order for local pickup at the brick and mortar location and need to return it?

    Our brick and mortar store and online store are separate entities that operate independently of each other. We offer local pickup as a courtesy to those who live locally, but returns cannot be processed in person at our brick and mortar location. Please contact customerservice@thenorthernlightsgallery.com with all return requests.

    What if I need to cancel an order?

    We cannot cancel orders that have already been shipped. Any order cancellation is subject to a 10% restock fee.

    How do I clean my jewelry?

    When in doubt, do NOT dip your jewelry. The safest bet is always simply a clean cloth. If you have specific questions about a particular piece, reach out to customerservice@thenorthernlightsgallery.com and we will do our best to assist you.

    How do I measure my ring size?

    Follow these instructions to measure your ring size easily at home.

    I purchased something at regular price, and now the item is on sale. Can I get the discount?

    Sale prices are valid for duration of sale only. We do not offer price adjustments on any products after a sale has ended, or retroactively on a purchase made before a sale began. The buyer assumes responsibility for their decision to purchase, with no expectation that a discount will be offered at a later date. 

    How often do you run sales? Can you notify me ahead of time when something will be put on sale?

    We run sales periodically, both on specific product categories and sitewide. We do not reach out individually about sales. Sign up for our email newsletter and our text alerts to be notified of current sales and offers. Alternatively, check back on our website often. We typically place a banner at the top of the site with information about any active sales.

    I accidentally provided an incorrect shipping address, what should I do?

    The buyer assumes all responsibility for providing a correct shipping address. If your item has not yet shipped, please send us an email letting us know your correct address and we will update it, provided it has not yet begun being processed. If your item has already shipped, it will move through the postal system and ultimately be returned to us as an insufficient address. We will require payment for a new shipping label and your correct address in order to send the item out again. Cost of original shipping label will be deducted from any refund issued to buyer, if buyer chooses to have order cancelled and not shipped again.
